21st Birthday: Tiki Lounge

When my husband turned 21, we didn't want to do the typical drunken bar scene. None of us are big drinkers, and some of us aren't drinkers at all. So rather than leave people out, we decided to have a non-alcoholic "root beer" kegger. I made the whole event a tiki lounge with root beers in bottles and virgin mixed drinks. There were leis everywhere, colored lights and black lights, and an actual tiki bar. We held the party in our local teen center, making use of the pool table and foosball table. This pictures don't depict the mood as well as I hoped, but everyone had lots of fun anyways.
