My little cousin Jaydon was celebrating his 8th birthday, and when asked what he wanted the theme of his cake to be, he said "fishing and basketball". We deliberated how we were going to combine the themes, and then decided it was more practical to make different tiers in different themes. With our 3-tier platter, we decided to make the 3rd cake a skateboarding cake, since a skateboard, helmet and pads were my gift to Jaydon for his birthday. We browsed the toy sections of various stores to find the figurines we wanted, and then we used scrapbooking stickers and icing to make the rest of the vignette.

For Jaydon's next birthday, he's already decided what he wants his cake to be. He told me that he had a challenge for my mom. He wants half of a castle, with her inside of it, baking a cake for him with a sign that says "Happy Birthday Jaydon!". His birthday isn't until April, but with an idea like that, we might need to start coming up with ideas!
